According to a recent British study about arachnophobia found that around 55% of women and 18% of men experience a fear of spiders to some degree.
Aside from being creepy, spiders can be pesky; webs and nests can be in all corners of the house, collect dust, and propagate.
But at DiatomacousEarth.com, we have a solution for the spider problem in your homes.
Step 1:
Find the locations around your house where you have seen spiders coming in. These can be cracks around doors and windows near any holes or cracks in the baseboard.
Step 2:
Take some Crawling Insect Control DE and sprinkle it around the areas where you see bugs or spiders crawling. Make sure that the DE is distributed evenly, like a thin layer of dust. If you need an applicator to apply DE effectively, check out our options here.
Remember, DE won't stop bugs in their tracks, it will slowly dehydrate and eventually kill bugs after coating them; the idea is to get bugs to move through DE in order to get exposed.
House spiders are prime targets for DE. They are in a dry environment and can be dehydrated by DE quickly.
Step 3:
After a week, go visit where you deposited your DE, sweep it up or vacuum it. You will probably see some deceased spiders amongst the DE. A word of warning for your vacuum: DE is very hard on traditional filtered vacuums. Unless you're only cleaning a small section, we recommend using a shop vac to avoid burning out your vacuum's motor. Step 4:
If you are concerned about more spiders, repeat the process weekly.
